PROTOCOL is VAVVY's second major collection — 16 designs, each built around one of the 16 Vedic Math sutras. The sutras are ancient Sanskrit mathematical formulas, rediscovered and systematised in the early 20th century, that describe calculation principles with the precision of algorithms. PROTOCOL treats each sutra as a design system: the formula becomes the visual, the meaning becomes the concept, the tee becomes the output.
The collection has a natural boundary: there are exactly 16 sutras, so there are exactly 16 tees. No more. The completeness of the source material is the completeness of the collection. PROTOCOL is finished not because VAVVY ran out of ideas — but because the system it was built on is complete.

The 16 Vedic Math sutras share structural qualities with VAVVY's design language that made the combination inevitable rather than arbitrary.
Each sutra is a compact algorithm — a complete computational principle expressible in a few Sanskrit words. Nikhilam Navatashcaramam Dashatah (all from nine, last from ten). Anurupyena (proportionality). Paravartya Yojayet (transpose and adjust). Each one is dense, precise, and complete.
That structure — maximum information in minimum expression, zero ornament — is exactly what VAVVY's visual system operates from. How Each Tee Is Designed
Each PROTOCOL tee takes one sutra as its anchor. The design process starts with the mathematical principle the sutra describes — not the words, but the logic.
The Sanskrit text is the typographic hero: rendered in a brutalist Devanagari treatment that gives the script the same graphic weight that JetBrains Mono gives Latin text in the rest of VAVVY's design language. White on black. Clean. No shadow, no glow, no decorative treatment.
The visual system around the sutra text reflects something specific about the mathematical principle it describes. This is the distinction between PROTOCOL and decoration. The design is not a graphic placed next to some Sanskrit text — it is a visual extension of what the sutra means. The sutra on the tee is the same sutra in the design structure.
